Every Fifteen Minutes: VOIDS come back to life: Photo of the Day 4/23/2015

On April 22nd and 23rd, the SGA sponsored a program Every Fifteen Minutes to show the effects of drinking and driving. Students were chosen to be VOIDS (Victims of Intoxicated Driving) for a day so their peers could get a taste what it would be like if someone they knew were gone.
Throughout the day on April 22nd, pictures were placed on the guidance office window every 15 minutes. each picture being a representation of a VOID. For an entire day, VOIDS could not talk to friends, family, or teachers.
On April 23rd, juniors and seniors attended an assembly that closed the program and presented the consequences of drinking and driving. Speakers at the assembly included students, emergency responders, and staff. Nurse Debbie Yohn from the PADDD (Posititve Alternatives to Dangerous and Destructive Decisions) spoke from personal experience about the effects of drinking and driving.
The same day, VOIDS went around and shared their experiences with their peers.
“We have not had a student die from alcohol related accidents in a long time. Don’t do anything to change that,” said Principal Dave Kehne.
