Lancer Media is featuring the creative Promposals, leading up to the big day, May 2.

Seniors Chris Cooper and Isabella Marcellino have been preparing to set sail to prom together ever since Cooper promposed on Wednesday, April 15. Mrs. Rebetsky had asked Marcellino to get a piece of paper from her classroom, and when Marcellino opened the door, there was Cooper standing with a captain’s hat and a sign that said, “I know you’re going to SHIP, but let me be your captain to prom?”

“I was completely surprised by the promposal and was caught completely off guard,” Marcellino said. “I jumped when I opened the door and saw him.” Moe de La Viez captured Marcellino’s surprise on film.

Cooper had the help of de LaViez in making the sign and incorporating Shippensburg into the promposal. “The only obstacle I faced was hiding the sign and having to grab it during lunch, as well as making sure she didn’t suspect anything,” Cooper said. According to the photo above, he obviously did a good job with that.

“I loved the way that Chris asked me! It was so creative and so personal to me since I will be attending Shippensburg University next year.” Marcellino said.

Marcellino is really looking forward to getting dressed up and dancing with friends as well as spending time with Cooper before they graduate. Cooper is also ecstatic for the big night with her.

He said, “I wish I could think of something more to say about [Marcellino] but I can’t really use words to explain my excitement and happiness.”
