With prom less than a month away, students are scrambling to make arrangements regarding everything from apparel to transportation. One of the biggest arrangements on the minds of both girls and boys is who to go with. Some people choose to go with a large group of friends, others don’t mind simply riding solo for the night. But those who choose to go with a date have even more to take into consideration: How will I ask or be asked?

Brandon Kleinmann’s promposal was one that most certainly didn’t go unnoticed. At the Mr. Linganore competition on Sunday, March 8, Brandon wrapped up his talent act by revealing a large sign that read, “Kaitlin, you are all of me so will you go to prom with me?”

Kleinmann performed “All Of Me” by John Legend on piano for part of his talent, which tied the promposal into his act.

Kaitlin Byrnes, Kleinmann’s girlfriend, wouldn’t have changed anything about the promposal. “I thought it was very romantic and sweet for him to ask me to prom the way he did,” Byrnes said. “Plus the song that he chose to play, ‘All Of Me’ by John Legend, has a lot of meaning behind it, which made it extra special!”

Kleinmann wasn’t phased by the large crowd. He said, “I was not nervous leading up to the promposal, and I was very confident that it was all going to work out.”

Although the promposal was so unique and spontaneous, it wasn’t the only one of the night. Jonathan Gober had promposed not long before Kleinmann to his escort, Erin Formulak, during the formal wear competition of the show. Despite this, Byrnes said she didn’t see it coming. “It was very unexpected. I had no idea Brandon was planning on asking me to prom during the night of Mr. Linganore.”
