With prom less than a month away, students are scrambling to make arrangements regarding everything from apparel to transportation. One of the biggest arrangements on the minds of both girls and boys is who to take to  prom.  Some people choose to go with a large group of friends. Others don’t mind simply riding solo for the night. But those who choose to go with a date have even more to take into consideration: How will I ask or be asked?

On the 25th of March, Alex Peterson presented his girlfriend Abby Hilton with a chocolate bar during class to celebrate their five months together. Lucky for Alex, Abby wasted no time tearing open the delicious candy to find that it wasn’t just an ordinary bar of chocolate; it was also a promposal.

“I was really giddy, I couldn’t stop smiling,” Hilton says. “I gave him a huge hug and, of course, I said ‘yes’.”

Hilton didn’t expect the promposal at all, and she was very pleased with how thoughtful he was in asking her. “He didn’t just make a sign; he worked really hard on it.”

And he did, in fact, work very hard, in the sweetest way. “The biggest problem was getting the card in the chocolate bar without ruining the wrapper. I think I went through three bars before I got it right,” Peterson said.

The couple is looking forward to spending their senior prom together. Abby is most looking forward to being able to dress up with her boyfriend. “I love looking good every once in a while and having someone to have a good time with.”
