From the Christmas movie Elf

“The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear”– Buddy the Elf

Seventy percent of students will be watching Elf over the holidays.  It’s their movie-of-choice to celebrate the season.

Elf is the one movie that you can watch it over and over again and it won’t get old.

“Elf is my favorite movie because it’s funny and it brings out people’s Christmas cheer,” said Junior Rachel Fermiano.

Also, Elf is a movie that teaches that adults believe in Santa and that believing in him isn’t childish. It also teaches life lessons about finding oneself in this big world and not caring about what people think. Buddy (Will Ferrell) is the perfect example. He was an orphan that hid in Santa’s bag of toys and ended up in the North Pole. After 30 years, his elf  “dad” tells Buddy about his real dad and about his background. He leaves the North Pole to find himself and his real family in New York City.

Buddy’s real father must learn to appreciate Buddy for his big green self and has to help Santa spread Christmas cheer.  Buddy thinks he can’t do it because he isn’t an elf and Santa tells him that he will always be an elf.

“Elf has taught me three things; Treat every day like Christmas, and there is always room for people on the nice list,” said junior Mariah Strawley.
