Spring breakers at a beach in South Florida.

In exchange for keeping Spring Break, students attending a private high school, John Carroll, were required to learn and complete assignments online during snow days. If LHS was given this option, would we have had a real Spring Break?

Lancer Media asked Linganore’s students and faculty if they would be willing to work online during snow days so the calendars didn’t have to be adjusted. More than half (71%) said they would be willing to work online.

John Carroll gave their students a minimum of 30 minutes of work to complete. Many (38%) of Linganore’s students and faculty agree that 30 minutes is the appropriate amount of time. Almost half (41%) thinks 30 minutes is too little time.

Lancer Media asked why students would not want to participate. Almost half (40%) said they would not be motivated to do the work. About one fifth (18%) said they work on snow days (shoveling snow, babysitting, etc.).

“Not everybody in this cyber age, including me, has internet at home. It would be difficult to complete the assignments given to me,” says a Linganore student.
