The 33rd annual science and engineering fair will be held this month, on the 22nd. The Elementary portion of the fair will be held at Walkersville High School, from 9:30 am – 1 pm. The Secondary portion, grades 6-12, will be held at Walkersville Middle, from 3-4 pm. The awards ceremony will be at 4. The winner and runner up will move on to the International Science & Engineering Fair in Los Angeles from May 11th to 16th!
Are you a girl that still needs shoes, accessories, or even a dress for prom? On March 28th and 29th, you can come out to Cinderella’s Closet at the Walkersville town hall at 21 West Frederick St. in the upper meeting room. All of the collection’s items are new or like new. The sale time on Friday, March 28th is 6-9pm, and on Saturday, March 29th it’s 10am – 2pm. Doors open at 5:30 on Friday and at 9:30 on Saturday. Cinderella’s Closet is also accepting men’s suits, ties, and sport coats. If you have any questions see Kathy Briske.
The Varsity Tennis Team is holding their annual fundraiser, “Quarter Auction”, this Friday, March 14th in the cafeteria. Doors Open at 6 PM, Auction starts at 7 PM. It is a family friendly event with lots of good prizes to bid on and win. The cost is $5.00 for reserved tickets, or $8.00 at door admission. Just a reminder, the Economics Club has a practice session today after school from 2:20 to 2:50.
Annee Lyons, an officer in NEHS, has arranged for a spelling bee after school today. She has gathered three teams–staff, NEHS and the Academic team. I hope that you can stop by the Media Center at 2:30 to see these three groups battle it out for spelling bee bragging rights.
Any student who would like to take an AP exam, but has not registered, may do so this week. Registration forms and payment should be given to Ms. Smith in the AP office. Exam rosters will be posted in main street during the week of March 17-21. Students who have registered for AP exams should verify that their name has been accurately recorded on each exam roster for which they have registered. Any error found on the rosters should be reported to Ms.Smith.
