If you’re a senior who would like a baby ad in the yearbook, reminder that the the discount deadline is until Sept 12th. Extra order forms can be found outside room A206 or on the LHS website under the YEARBOOK INFO link.
Any junior or senior with a 3.0 overall GPA and a 3.5 in all science classes are encourage to sign up for the LHS Science National Honor Society club. The club’s first meeting will be held on Club Day where students will receive applications for memberships. See the club’s advisor Mr.mSunkel in Room A139 for questions.
School picture days for underclassmen are September 11 and 12. Schedules for students are posted in classrooms and on Main Street by both the main office and the student services office.
Senior picture make up dates are September 15 and 16. There is a setting fee of $20.00 for the standard package and $40.00 for the deluxe package. Be sure to bring that money with you and any casual attire you want for pictures. There will be a schedule for senior pictures outside the front office and guidance beginning Wednesday. Volleyball teams sweep Westminster: JV with a score of 2-0 and Varsity with a score of 3-0. Many thanks to all those who came out to support us in our first match!
JV and Varsity field hockey teams beat Walkersville with a score of 1-0. Congratulations ladies! The next game is at home on Wednesday. JV starts at 5:30 Varsity starts at 7.
Congratulations to the girls cross country team on a great first meet yesterday at Woodward Relays. The girls placed 5th place with 46 points. Outstanding efforts given by Olivia Deyheart, Amy Safsten, Leigh Rankin, Alyssa Hayslett and Sydney Garwood. Great job, ladies!
Boys Open Gym starts today at 4pm and will go through the middle of November. To get a full schedule, stop by Coach Kraft’s office B102 to pick up a schedule.
The Unified Tennis team will have practice from 2:45-3:45 p.m. today. Remember, all paperwork is due this Friday.
Interested in democracy and want to be an active part of this election? Then sign up HERE to Register to Vote! Representatives from the Board of Elections and League of Women Voters will be conducting a voter registration drive Tomorrow during lunch in the cafeteria. Students who are at least 16 years old can register; you must be 18 as of November 4 to vote. Please bring your MVA license or permit – if you don’t have one, bring your social security card number (all kept confidential). Any student who is at least 17 years old and registered to vote may sign up as a volunteer to work at the polls as an Election Judge in November.
Juniors interested in being a member of Junior Council which includes working on prom, must turn in their information form to Ms. Larson or Mrs. Hirschy by Friday, September 12th. Don’t have a form? Stop by Ms. Larson’s office in Student Services.
