Don’t worry, there is still time for current sophomores, juniors, and seniors to apply for the Johns Hopkins University Engineering Innovation summer program offered at Tuscarora High. The program allows you to participate in a renowned college-level program—with the potential to earn three college credits—while exploring cutting-edge educational and career options. You will also earn one FCPS elective credit. For more information, go to fcps.org/news and find the news release under February 2014.
Also, a representative from Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics will be visiting on May 6th. This school specializes in Aircraft Maintenance. They will meet in Room 122 at the beginning of all periods. Please see Ms. Riley in Student Services to sign up.
All students scheduled to take an AP Exam in May are required to attend an AP Pre-administration session after school on April 22 or 23. Students with the last name beginning with A-L should attend on Tuesday, April 22, while students with the last name beginning with M-Z should attend on Wednesday, April 23. Each session is scheduled to begin at 2:30 and will last until about 3:15. Students should bring a number two pencil to the session.
If you are a student who had work in the art show last semester, please see your art teacher as soon as humanely possible to pick up your artwork.
In honor of National Poetry Month, the National English Honor Society is holding their Favorite Poem Project on April 21st. Come watch teachers, students, and members of the community recite a poem that they enjoy. The event begins at 7:00 p.m. Bring canned food as an entry fee.

Congratulations to the Varsity Baseball team for their shutout victory yesterday over Oakdale with a score of 2-0. Way to go Lancers! The JV team also took home a crushing victory over Walkersville with a score of 14-1. Not bad!
Congratulations to the Girls’ Tennis Team with their victory over Oakdale with a score of 3-2. Way to represent!
And let’s not forget our Varsity Softball team with their win over Oakdale yesterday with a score of 11-0. Awesome job!
