If you are interested in spending an exciting summer learning about marine biology and conservation while meeting people from all over the world, consider applying for the 2015 Student Volunteer Program at the National Aquarium in Baltimore. Applications are available from Ms. Radil-Harris or Mr. Brown in C103. This opportunity is open to students in grades 9-12.
If you are a Junior, listen up: Did you know you live near one of the world’s leading cancer research facilities at Ft. Detrick? We are one of very few high school students in the country with a unique opportunity. Online applications are now being accepted for the Werner H. Kirsten Student Internship Program at the National Cancer Institute. These challenging internships begin this summer and continue part-time throughout the senior year. If you have an interest in science or medicine, math, or information technology, you will want to apply. Details are available from any science teacher or Ms. Radil-Harris in C103.
Next week, an admissions representative from West Virginia University, Millersville University and Virginia Tech will be visiting. If you would like to meet with the representative from any of these universities, please see Ms. Riley in Student Services or you can sign up with NAVIANCE.
All seniors, please use the upcoming long weekend to finalize your college application plans. If you have a December 1 application deadline, you must request transcripts and letters of recommendation from your school counselor by Friday, November 7th.

Varsity field hockey surged past Watkins Mill last night with a score of 5-0. They are now 3A West Region Champions! They played in the State Semi Final game next Wednesday November 11th against Northern High School. Congratulations ladies!
