Advanced Placement Students: The spring AP registration period will begin Monday of next week and end on Friday. This will be the final registration period for all students that wish to take an AP exam in May. Students may bring their completed registration form and payment to Ms. Smith in the AP office before school, during lunch, or after school.
Congratulations to 11th grader Amber Mongue for being the first place winner in the Frederick County Young Author’s Contest. Her poem, “Watered Despair” will now be sent to the state level to be judged. Also, congratulations to the second place winner: 9th grader Samantha Buckman, on her poem “The Night” and her short story “The Five Visitors”. Great job to all of the competitors who entered in this year’s Young Author’s contest.
Linganore would like to recognize the NJROTC drill team for their hard work and dedication this year, landing them in fourth place in this year’s Area 5 Championship. A special congratulation goes to Senior David Trumbull. David finished 1st in a multi-service match among 479 competitors, earning himself an invitation the Navy JROTC National Championship match at Camp, in March.

Come out and support the Lancer Ice Hockey team as they play Urbana tonight at 7pm. Next Friday, February 7th, its senior night where they’ll be facing Frederick at 4pm. Come out to cheer on the team in their last two games of the season!
Congratulations to the Girls’ Varsity basketball team in their defeat against Middletown last night. The team won a close match, with a final score of 55-53. Nice job Lancers!
Come out and support the LHS Pom and Dance Team this weekend at their only local competition at Oakdale High School Saturday. Doors open at 12:00 and the competition starts at 1:00. The girls will perform four dances throughout the day! Adults: $ 8.00, Kids under 10 are $5.00, and anyone Under 2 is free! Good Luck Ladies!
