Sophomore Caitlin Butler was one of nearly 20 classroom finalists who competed for the school during second period in the auditorium.  The winners of the Poetry Out Loud contest will participate in the county finals in January and will receive Barnes and Noble gift certificates.  Students who win at the state and national level are eligible for prizes and scholarships. Butler recited  “A Song in Minor Key” by Dorothy Parker. The contest was scored by a panel of judges based on presentation and level of complexity.  Students in second period classes and parents made up the audience.
