The Linganore Latin Club has teamed up with Advocates for Homeless Families, and they’re asking Linganore students to “Have a Heart for the Homeless” this Valentine’s Day. They invite first period classes to collect any donateable items all next week, February 10-14. The class that collects the most will win Dunkin Donuts on the morning of the 19th. Please spread the word!
Advanced Placement Students—Due to recent weather-related school closings the deadline to register for Advanced Placement registration deadline has been extended until Friday, February 14. Any student interested in taking an AP exam in May must complete the registration form and submit payment by February 14. Extra forms are available from Ms. Smith in the assistant principal’s office.
In honor of National School Counseling week, we would like to recognize all of Linganore’s outstanding counselors. School counselors are dedicated to helping students in a plurality of ways, and they do so every day. Thank you to Linganore Counselors Ms. Blum, Ms. Becker, Mr. Kraft, Ms. Emery, and Ms. Larson for all you do!
At 3:45 this afternoon at Skate Frederick, we will honor our senior Ice Hockey players before taking the ice against Frederick High at 4:00. Please come out to support our seniors!
Congratulations to the LHS Bocce Ball Teams for placing 1st and 2nd in their respective divisions during the District Tournament held at Oakdale H.S. on Thursday. Winning the gold medal and qualifying to play in the State Bocce Ball Tournament next Thursday were Mary Kate Hall, Joe Morris, Jonathan Slaughter, Natalie Smith, Sydney Rossman and Sarah Webber.
The National Honor Society is sponsoring a school Talent Show. Auditions are in the auditorium next Thursday, February 13th after school. Dancers, Musicians, Jugglers, Singers, and any other person who thinks that they have talent is welcome to show off for all of Linganore to see!
The Student Government Association is pleased to announce this year’s Winter Spirit Week! Each day next week, make sure to wear an outfit for that day’s spirit day! Monday is Ugly Sweater Day, Tuesday is Superhero Day, Wednesday is Flannel Day, Thursday is Team Murica Day, and Friday is Red, Black, and Pink Day. We can’t wait to see what you’ll pull off!
