This is the fourth profile in Lancer Media’s Back to School Series: New Teachers.
Mrs. Sharon Dravvorn is teaching Common Core Algebra I. She looks forward to making the beginning connections for students to go on to more advanced algebra.
Dravvorn has been teaching mathematics for 23 years and is happy to be making a transition to Linganore because of the different community.
“The challenge is figuring out how kids learn,” said Dravvorn. Dravvorn enjoys challenging students to do better.
Dravvorn spends her free time with her children and wife. She enjoys hiking, gardening, and the outdoors.
“My practices are unorthodox at times, or even weird. But when the child leaves, they will have learned something new,” said Dravvorn.
Dravvorn describes herself as being humorous, predictable, but also a firm teacher. She is a laid back until she needs to be “strict.”
“Students can expect a good education, managed classroom, and to grow in mathematical knowledge.”
