Update: December 11, 2013: Great news for the annual Quentin Ingram Egg Nog Jog! A graduate from the Class of 2001 has made a very generous matching funds offer for our event. He will match, up to $10,000, the funds raised for the race. This means LHS and our community could donate $20,000 or more to the fight against Leukemia and Lymphoma. This is an amazing offer and we want to show that our community really knows how to give. We need everyone’s help! Please take a minute to plan your part in our event:
Donate! Make your donation to the cause. Send your donation to Linganore High School, care of the SGA. Donations need to be received by Saturday, December 21, to be part of the official total. Any donation, small or large, will be great!
In 2004, a member of our community named Quentin Ingram died of leukemia. His family formed an annual toy drive during the holiday. This toy drive gives children in the Johns Hopkins Pediatrics unit toys and games to brighten their spirits. To help this great tradition of giving, the SGA will be hosting its second annual Quentin Ingram Egg Nog Jog, a two-mile, holiday-themed race on the grounds of LHS.
The Jog is open to students, adults, and anyone who wishes to attend. Registration cost is $10 or a new toy or game. Race shirts can be purchased for $15. All proceeds will be used to supplement donations to the pediatric center and to make a donation to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, to help fund research of blood diseases to prevent another death like Quentin’s.
