Ben Grimes will be attending Frederick Community College and is looking to have a music audio design career. He is a member of the Marching Band, Concert Band, and Jazz Band.

What has been your favorite memory at Linganore?

“It would be multiple things. Football games that I attended, mainly the state championships. I’ve always had a lot of fun at them. Also, the summer before senior year started, it was really good. I spent a lot of time hanging out with friends. Probably even now, I’m making friends with a lot of people I normally wouldn’t be friends with.”

What are you going to miss most after graduating?

” My juniors friends that I made. I’m also going to miss a few of my teachers as well, Mr. Sunkel, Mr. Halter, Mr. Dye, and Mr. Lloyd.”

Do you feel pressure to have your future be decided already?

” Yes,because I have no idea what I want to do, and I have to figure that out very fast,or get at least a general idea. I try not to let the pressure get to me too much. I just try and keep it in mind and not let it go away. I have general ideas about what I want to do in the future, so that helps with the pressure a little bit.”

What is the most challenging task as a senior?

” Having the will to come to school. Most seniors probably have only one or two classes that you need to put your energy into in order to graduate, and there are a couple classes I have right now that I have a lot of work in, so the school day goes by very slow.”

What advice do you have for incoming freshmen?

“Take classes that seem like fun to you and you have an interest in. That can help with your future. I made that mistake with a couple of my classes. I took classes that I needed to graduate and didn’t take any that truly interested me.”

Where do you imagine yourself 10 years from now?

” I have no idea. Of course I’ll have completed two years at FCC and then completed the rest of my schooling at another college. Hopefully, I will have made the correct decision on what I want to do career-wise.”

When you look back on this school in later years, what will you remember most?

“Probably all of the friends and memories I made from outside of school activities and class friends. In my photography class, I became best friends with a sophomore after we got our seats moved. I was one of three seniors in that class. I’ll remember everyone that I talked to and true friends.”
