Softball seniors are excited that there is only 16 days left of school.

Class of 2016: Softball seniors are all smiles for 16 days left

Three softball seniors Bailey Clum, Tanner Ridgley, Kayleigh Day and Corinne Bremmers last days of high school, and last high school softball are coming to an end, and there are no frowns for these ladies.  Senior night was scheduled for May 2, but the game was rained out.  The ladies will make up their game on May 4, and the new scheduled senior night will be May 16.

They are proud they accomplished so much for the program,  and some were able to play in state game competition last year. The team is 10-2, so the state title is well within reach again this year.

Although they fell short of one of their goals this season, which was to be undefeated, that isn’t stopping these seniors from giving all they have to make it back to University of Maryland and play for the 3A Class State Championship.

Day says that, “Before the end of the season I hope to be able to say that both my team and I put everything we had into our final games.” She will miss all of the memories she made on this team over the past three years.

And Ridgley also going to miss this season. She says,” I like that this team has a lot of different personalities. It makes for an interesting season.” She also states that before the season ends she, “WANTS TO BEAT NORTHERN CALVERT!”

The rest of the softball team joins her in being tired of Northern taking the state championship opportunity from them.

Clum says, “I will miss be able to play the game I love with my teammates and coaches by my side. I love how welcoming everyone was to the team.” This season was Clum’s first and last season on varsity.

Corinne Bremmer says, “I’ve accomplished all I wanted. I have my girls who have stood by my side, and I have stood by them, and that’s all I wanted.”

These ladies will all be attending four year colleges after they graduate. Kayleigh Day will be attending Stevenson University to play softball and will be majoring in Medical Laboratory Science. She hopes to earn her doctorate to become a Forensic Pathologist. Tanner Ridgley will be attending Stevenson and will be playing field hockey and majoring in Pre-Physical Therapy.  Bailey Clum is going to attending Frederick Community College and is not quite decided on a major yet. Corinne Bremmer will be attending Valley Forge University, majoring in education.
