What has been your favorite memory at Linganore?
“This field trip I had sophomore year. We went to NBC4 in Washington, D.C., for AP Human Geography. I loved that trip.”
What are you going to miss most after graduating?
“Definitely the friends. You had your friends and then your school friends. I’m going to miss my school friends. It’s depressing. We’re all going to different schools away from each other. I’m going to miss that for sure.”
Do you feel pressure to have your future be decided already?
“No, When I was 14, I knew what I wanted to do. I knew I wanted to travel, what college I wanted to go to, and I knew that I wanted to help people. It took sometime to choose my major but I do know that I want to go into political science.”
What is the most challenging task as a senior?
“Battling senioritis, especially after I was accepted into Howard. I’ve been trying to hard to get my work done, but I can’t stop thinking about how close we are to graduating. The will to do anything is just gone. At the beginning of the year, submitting my college applications was very difficult.”
What advice do you have for incoming freshmen?
“Join a lot of clubs. Set yourself up. Start your academic journey as early as you can. Don’t start slacking, the way you start is the way you end. That’s how I see it. Join sports if you can. High school is a lot different than middle school. You are around older people who tend to be more mature. Act your age. Do your work, and have low expectations for what your high school years will look like. Do expect something certain to happen.”
Where do you imagine yourself 10 years from now?
“Hopefully as a diplomat. I just want to be making money. I want this cute YSL bag. Maybe be in a committed relationship. “
What was the most meaningful assignment a teacher ever had you do?
“In my English 1o1 class, my final project, the podcast. That was the most effort, work, and energy I have ever put into an assignment. However, that was the most fun and creative I’ve been able to have during an assignment, start to finish. Writing it was so much fun. I was able to balance my creativity and intellectual side at the same time.
