Maria Applegate
Maria Applegate will be attending Ave Maria University. She is planning to enter the nursing program, to eventually work in an emergency room. Applegate is a member of the Varsity Pom & Dance Team and will compete in NCIA Division II for AMU’s dance team.
What has been your favorite memory at Linganore?
“My favorite memory was dancing on the football field during the fall season.”
What are you going to miss most after graduating?
“All the friends I have made.”
Do you feel pressure to have your future be decided already?
“I haven’t felt any pressure. It’s very weird. I’m just going with the flow. I’m a little nervous to start college, but I’m also looking forward to starting something new.”
Best high school memory?
“All the school dances! I can’t wait to go to prom in a couple of months. I’m so excited!”
What is the most challenging task as a senior?
“Fighting the urge to leave the school half the time. It’s hard being so close to graduating and still attending classes every day.”
What advice do you have for incoming freshmen?
“Don’t worry too much about grades. As long as you try your best that’s what counts.”
Where do you imagine yourself 10 years from now?
“Hopefully in a hospital working as a nurse, maybe in Florida.”
When you look back on this school in later years, what will you remember most?
“I will remember all the great people I met and all the teachers that helped me get to be who I am today.”
