Golden Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Oatmeal raisin cookie recipe

  1. ¾ cup butter, softened 
  2. 1 cup packed brown sugar
  3. ½ cup granulated sugar
  4. 1 teaspoon baking powder
  5. ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  6. ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  7. ¼ teaspoon ground cloves (optional)
  8. 2 large eggs
  9. 1 teaspoon vanilla
  10. 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  11. 2 cups rolled oats

Oatmeal raisin cookie instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  2. In a mixing bowl beat butter with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds
  3. Add brown sugar, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, ¼ teaspoon salt, and, if desired, cinnamon and cloves
  4. Beat until combined, scraping sides of bowl
  5. Beat in eggs and vanilla
  6. Beat in as more than half of the flour
  7. Stir in remaining flour
  8. Stir in rolled oats
  9. Stir in 1 cup raisins
  10. Drop dough by rounded teaspoons 2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet
  11. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are light brown
  12. Cool on cookie sheet 1 minute
  13. Transfer to a wire rack and let cool

These oatmeal raisin cookies have a golden outline with texture taste. The soft texture with the sugar layer around the cookie makes these cookies the best looking and tasting cookies.
