Shylo Arneson commits to Frostburg State University

On February 1st, 2017, Shylo Arneson signed her National Letter of Intent to Frostburg State University.

As a member of the varsity Softball team, Arneson was able to experience a high caliber of play when Linganore went to states. Sadly they lost to Northern-Calvert with a score of two.

Arneson is also a part of a travel team, the Heartbreakers. They travel all over to compete in tournaments. Arneson said, “I’m not nervous to play in college because of how well my coach has prepared me.

Arneson has always expressed a passion for softball. Her coach, Terry Burdette, said, “She is an excellent hitter and a good offensive player.”

Arneson did have other options such as Hood College, but she ultimately decided to attend Frostburg because of her fondness for the coach. She also mentioned that she had “fallen in love with the beautiful view” of the college.

While at Frostburg, she plans on majoring in education. Similar to her aunt, Mandy Rawlett, who teaches at New Market Elementary School, Arneson also aspires to become a teacher after graduation.

Her mother, Julie Arneson, said that she is nervous now her daughter is leaving for college, but she also feels excited that her child will be with an awesome coach.

Arneson is grateful for her parents support and that she will be able to attend the university of her dreams.
