Class of 2016: AP Political Science counts down delegates and 8 days of school left
Mrs. Jamie Hendi’s first period AP Political Science class has been counting down the delegates and days of school left for the seniors!
There are 466 Republican delegates, 1084 Democratic delegates, and eight days left for seniors.
AP Political Science focuses on the structure and function of the United States government. Over the past few weeks, the students have been studying for their AP exam and are now ready to work on some of the fun projects that Hendi has planned.
“The conspiracy theory project is a favorite of many students, so I moved that up [in the lesson plan calendar so] seniors will be able to join in on the fun,” Hendi said.
Josh Hillard, Dawson Knolls, and Mackenzie Wilson will be attending Frederick Community College to further their education.
Madeline Wodaski will be attending American University and is excited to live so close to the nation’s capital. “There’s only a twelve-minute Metro ride to the Capitol building. I’ve already taken it and could probably tell you all of the stops,” said Wodaski.
Jessica Steves will be attending Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland. The liberal arts college has a long-standing tradition of producing strong writers, both creative and technical.
Austin Jackson has made the decision to join the Marine Corps and will be heading out to basic training this summer.
Frederick County Public Schools calls this class AP Political Science, but the College Board has recognized it as AP United States Government and Politics. If you were interested in government in ninth grade, then this would be the class for you.
