Senior Madeline Hull, introduces the new Lancer Lair to this years freshman and sophomore.

Have you heard about the Lancer Lair?

Coordinated by Mrs. Jennifer Weiss and Mrs. Durann Ecalaono, Lancer Lair is is a tutoring center run by students.

Members of the various honor societies are assigned to tutor based on their areas of expertise. The Lancer Lair provides students with another option for a quick tutor session than going to a teacher for help, since some students may find it difficult asking teachers for help.

National Honor Society member Kelly Alt said, ” I’m excited to be a part of this new tutor center. I think it will be beneficial for students to get help from a different perspective. When I first entered high school, I wasn’t that comfortable to ask teachers for help, so students that have a similar feeling will like this.”

One of the many tables used in the cafeteria for tutoring. Students will sit down at the table where they are seeking help and then an honor society member will help them.

Lancer Lair is held in the cafeteria during PREP. The cafeteria is laid out with each table assigned different subject, increasing in grade level and difficulty.

The PREP sign up document will be available to all students.

The Lancer Lair, is also hosting a Logo Design Contest.

Interested students should design a logo for the tutoring enter and submit the image using the QR code on the flyers posted around the school or submit online. Designs are due by September  20. The winner will receive a cash prize and the logo will be used to  represent our tutoring center. The contest is open to all students.
