Tre Brisoe signs his National Letter of Intent

On February 6, varsity lineman Tre Briscoe signed his National Letter of Intent to play Division II football at Shepherd University.

Briscoe has been playing football for nine years and has been on the varsity team for three. His coaches and parents praise his hard work and dedication, claiming it is these attributes that have made him the student athlete he is today.

“Tre has been really fun to coach over the years because his great work ethic is what sets him apart. He got better everyday,” said coach Conner

The process for deciding where Briscoe wanted to attend school was complex. He originally had offers from North Carolina Central University and Fairmont State University, but, ultimately, he chose Shepherd.

“I picked Shepherd because I love the atmosphere of the school. It’s just a great place to be,” said Briscoe.

The Shepherd football team finished their 2018 season with 7 wins and 3 losses and an average of 35 points per game.

Briscoe has had many great achievements in his high school football career, including a state championship in his junior year.

“Although college football has its differences, I’m excited to start this next chapter in my life,” said Briscoe.

In addition to football, Briscoe plans to further his education by majoring in sports marketing.

“I am a little nervous, but overall I am excited for him,” said Dawn Briscoe.
