The varsity basketball team zoomed past local rival South Carroll on January 15 by a score 74 to 30. Blowout was an understatement against this South Carroll team. This was domination from the beginning to end. Senior Sean Lang led the way for the Lancers with 15 points and 6 rebounds. Behind Lang, Jacob Ference added another 11 points for the Lancers. They played well as a team racking up a total of 22 assists.

This was the ninth win of the season and they are on a four game winning streak as of January 16. This was the largest margin of victory this season. Sophomore forward Cole Mitchell said “it was a great win, fun game to be at and watch. I’m glad to see us really come together and play as a team.” Mitchell also played well adding seven more points and seven rebounds.

The Lancers dominated from the get go as they were up 12 points by the end of the first quarter, and were up 44-10 going into half time. They haven’t lost to the Cavaliers in five years in basketball. With this win the Lancers have momentum going into next game as they take on Frederick High on January 18 for a tough conference game that they look to win.

Last year they beat Frederick 63-50. This would keep their winning streak alive and carry momentum later into the season.
