On January 17 and 18, students in Ms. Newcomb’s English 10 class are presenting their final projects. Each student picked a different book and they had to identify potential research topics inspired by the book they read. They spent a few months outside of class researching the topic thoroughly and were guided by Mrs. Thompson’s presentations about how to research effectively.

For the presentation, each student gathered three artifacts to represent their topic and aid them in their presentation. Half of the class was spread out around the learning commons to present and the remaining students walked around to hear the presentations.

During the presentations, the students had to write down facts that they learned. After the presentation, the students had to fill out am evaluation about the presentation they listened to.

“I thought the presentations were very put together and you could clearly tell the students worked hard on their research,” said Riley Johnston, a member of the Class of 2021.

Teachers were invited to come and check out the presentations during their free time. Mrs. Thompson, Ms. Newcomb, and other teachers also filled out a reflection sheet.
