Today is the last day to submit schedule change forms for fall semester classes. All schedule change requests begin with a completed form, signed by a parent. List the course you would like to drop and the class you would ideally like to add. Many courses are full, including Foundations of Technology, Art 1, Digital Photography 1, Ceramics 1, most strength training and team sports volleyball classes, AP Macroeconomics, along with all levels of journalism and woodworking. Please do not request these courses if you submit a schedule change form. 

Students who have not yet checked out a Chromebook may do so in the Learning Commons before school, between classes, at lunch, or immediately after school. Teachers may send a few students at a time during independent work in their classes.

Are you interested in cyber security or wish to pursue a career in the national security field? Well, the National Youth Leadership Forum is accepting applications to attend an exciting six days of simulations, tours of federal government facilities,  and landmarks like the Pentagon, FBI building, State Department, and various intelligence collection agencies! If you would like to apply please see Mr. Burch in A215 or contact him via email. 

The Linganore Drama department is pleased to start their 2019-2020 season with the fall play It’s a Wonderful Life. Interviews for interested student directors will be held Monday, September 9th after school in A217. The sign-up sheet for interested students is outside D101 on the bulletin board. Auditions for the play will be held Thursday, September 12th from 2:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. in D101. Please prepare a 2-3-minute memorized monologue for the audition. Sign-ups for auditions are also on the bulletin board outside room D101.

Lancers, please join us on Saturday, September 7, from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at the stadium to help us with a fall clean up. Linganore High School Sports Boosters will provide donuts, coffee, and drinks for those volunteering. 

Attention Seniors, the deadline for ordering a Class of 2020 t-shirt is Monday, September 9. You may order online through School Cash online OR return the order form, along with payment, that you received in the class meeting this week. 

Senior Picture Makeups and retakes are scheduled for Monday, September 9 and Tuesday, September 10 in the auditorium. You must have Victor O’neill Studios take your picture to be included in the yearbook. October 18  is the last day to select your senior pose for the yearbook. Please see Ms. Cline in the front office with any questions. 

If you’re a student driver, don’t forget to purchase a 2019-2020 student parking permit. Permit applications are available in the front office or on the school website. 

It is unlawful for students to possess or use any weapon on school property. Students who have or use a weapon on school property will be suspended from school, and the police will be notified of the incident. A weapon is any object designed to harm another physically or an object which is used in a way that can physically harm another. This school is committed to providing each of you with a safe environment, and we will do all we can to carry out that responsibility, including, if necessary, conducting searches of student lockers.
