Attention Linganore Students grades nine through eleven, are you interested in cyber security or wish to pursue a career in the national security field? Well, the National Youth Leadership Forum is accepting applications to attend an exciting six days of simulations, tours of federal government facilities and landmarks like the Pentagon, FBI building and State Department and various intelligence collection agencies! If you would like to apply please see Mr. Burch in A215 or contact him via email. 

The Linganore Drama department is pleased to start their 2019-2020 season with the fall play, “It’s a Wonderful Life”. Auditions for the play will be held Thursday, September 12 from 2:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. in D101. Please prepare a two to three minute memorized monologue for the audition. Sign-ups for auditions are also on the bulletin board outside room D101.

Any student wishing to join the Science National Honor Society should pick-up an application form outside of Room A139 (Mr. Sunkel). Community service hour opportunities are also posted. Note: All students must complete nine hours of science-related community service for membership. 

Current Mu Alpha Theta members will be meeting in A132 (Mrs. Weiss’ room) this Friday during PREP. Please make every effort to attend. 

Washington College Representative Marc Goldman will be visiting Linganore Monday, September 16 during PREP. If you’re interested in learning more about Washington College please sign-up in Student Services today!

The National English Honor Society is accepting applications from Juniors and Seniors. Please go to LinganoreNEHS.weebly.com to complete the application. The application is due no later than September 19 at 3:00 p.m. Bring your printed application to Mrs. Rebetsky in C203. 

The first Frederick County National Business Honor Society will be inducting its first class this year. If you are interested in applying for the National Business Honor Society see Mr. Rich in C127. Applications will be out soon for the first induction. 

Senior Picture Makeups and retakes are today in the auditorium. You must have Victor O’neill Studios take your picture to be included in the yearbook. Please see Ms. Cline in the front office with any questions. 

Spring supplements can be picked up today during lunches outside the cafeteria if you purchased a 2019 yearbook. Stop by the front office or room A206 to pick one up after today. 

If you’re a student driver, don’t forget to purchase a 2019-2020 student parking permit. Permit applications are available in the front office or on the LHS website. Ticketing will begin next week if you do not have a pass.

All vehicles must be moved from the student side of the front parking lot after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays by 4:30 p.m. to accommodate marching band practice. The Lancer Band thanks you for your cooperation!
