Are you a fan of trivia games? The LHS Academic Team competes against students from other schools in a team trivia tournament and they are looking for new members. The first meeting will take place on Tuesday, November 12 from 2:30 p.m to 4:00 p.m in Mr. Hahn’s room, C102. All interested students are welcome. You do not have to commit to joining the team right away, just come to some practices and see if you like it. Hope to see you there. 

Today is the first day of Writer’s Week! During PREP, students will be working on entries for the Young Author’s Contest. You can still sign up to make cards after school today for orphans, hospitalized children, servicemen and women, and the elderly. Tomorrow during PREP, you can get help with essays and writing for other classes. Card making will be happening again after school tomorrow. Sign up outside of Ms. Troxel’s room, C222. 

Are you interested in running for the boy’s indoor track and field team? If you are, there will be a brief informational meeting in Coach Eckard’s room A136 on Tuesday, November 12 at 2:20 p.m. The meeting will end at 2:50 p.m. If you want to run, throw, or jump, you must come to this meeting. Our Fall varsity cheerleaders are Maryland State Champs! They won the state competition by over one point against the second-place team on Saturday. They gave the performance of a lifetime and will be fitted for their State rings in the near future. Congrats to this talented group of athletes!
