On February 13, the National English Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta hosted their annual Game Night. The event was originally scheduled for January 29, but was rescheduled because of snow.

Members spent an hour and a half playing board games, eating snacks, and getting to know other members of the honor societies.

Students brought a wide variety of games including Apples to Apples, Clue, The Game of Life, UNO, and many more. Most games had math and English concepts for students to work with.

Honor society members were also encouraged to bring friends outside of the groups. “I had a lot of fun at Game Night, and I was able to get to know some students that I haven’t talked to much before,” said Class of 2020 member Emma Howard, who was a guest.

Game Night also included a raffle. Attendees were able to put in a ticket to have the chance of winning one of three Amazon gift cards from a random drawing. The three winners were Yazmine Carballo, Keersten Myers, and Yesenia Montenegro.

“My favorite part of Game Night was being able to hang out with my friends after school. I had a lot of fun and my favorite game we played was Apples to Apples. I’m also really excited that I won the raffle,” said NEHS and Mu Alpha Theta member Keersten Myers.
