Are you a Santa or a Scrooge?

Santa Claus is coming to town! or Bah Humbug!

December finds us in two camps: either we’re in the Christmas spirit, counting down the days till the holidays, or we’re dreading the decorations, carols, and the thought of seasonal cheer.

Are you a Santa or a Scrooge?

“If I could work my will, every idiot who goes about with ‘Merry Christmas’ on his lips should be boiled with his own pudding and buried with a stake of holly through his heart. He should!”  Scrooge said this in the famous short story, “A Christmas Carol.”

In the article by the Huffington Post, by writer, Carolyn Gregoire, she discusses how some become depressed when December begins. Gregoire writes, “Between stressful end-of-year deadlines, family dysfunction and loss, poor eating and drinking habits, and increasingly cold and dark winter days, it’s easy for the holiday season to feel not-so-merry and bright.”

On the other hand, some are in love with the idea of the holidays. Barbara Jacoby, contributor to the Huffington Post discusses her love for the holidays in the article, “Why I Love the Holidays”. Jacoby also said, “The reason this happens is because those who will receive the presents are the most important people in my life.”

One of the most glorious messes in the world is the mess created in the living room on Christmas Day.

Jacoby also talked about the real gift of receiving and how she wants those in her life “to know that what they receive has been the result of my doing my very best to find those things which I truly think they will enjoy.”

Whether you’re a Scrooge or a Santa, the holidays or for everybody!
