On January 20th, 2018, the wrestling team battled against North Hagerstown and came out victorious.

Linganore won 7 individual matches to North Hagerstown’s 6 individual match wins. Earl Blake won his match in the second period by a pin. Tristian Verbin-Hedger won his match in the first period by a pin.

“We all fought extremely hard. It was a great effort all around,” said Braden Weinel.

Coach Ben Arneson set up an overall game plan for North Hagerstown. For example, Arneson told his wrestlers who to go against and what to do if someone on the other team weighs in at a different weight class.

“Coach always makes a plan going into each match to set us up for success,” said Riley Sheehy, who is having a winning season.

JV wrestlers also had some success Saturday by winning 3 out of their 4 matches. Weinel won his match by a minor decision of 7-6, and Teddy Britton won his match in the first period by a pin.

Varsity and JV wrestle January 24, 2018 at Tuscarora High School in a tri-meet at 5:00 pm.
