On September 14, members of the stage crew for the fall play Almost, Maine met with actors in D101 for an informational meeting. At 2:30, Mrs. Angela Smithhisler, the director of the fall play, addressed the cast and crew as a whole.

Smithhisler reviewed the expectations of a theater company with the students. The importance of regular attendance to rehearsals and tech meetings, as well as general commitment to the show, was discussed. All students were given a contract agreeing to these terms.

Junior Olivia Pietanza, who has been involved in tech theater since her freshman year, spoke of her past experiences with the theater department.

“You become friends with everyone you work with, and come together to do something great. It’s the sense of community that keeps me coming back every year,” said Pietanza.

Pietanza explained that in theater there’s an important balance between having fun and making sure goals are met.

“While we do have lots of fun, we have a deadline and a goal we need to achieve,” said Pietanza. “We just need to make sure we’re on the same page.”

The work of the cast and crew will come together for the performance of Almost, Maine, which runs from November 1-3. Tickets are now available for purchase on showtix4u.com.
