On Monday, April 16th, the Linganore Future Farmers of America (FFA) Chapter visited the Linganore Grange at the annual Friendship Dinner. The Grange, officially known as “The National Grange of the Order of Patrons of Husbandry,” is a national organization that encourages families to join together to promote well-being of the community and agriculture. Every year, the Linganore Grange hosts a Friendship dinner. At this event, friends and families in the agricultural community join together.

This year, the Linganore FFA was given the opportunity to put on the program for the dinner. After a buffet style dinner, flower arrangements made by horticulture students were raffled. With Career and Leadership Development competitions coming up, the Linganore FFA students took this opportunity to practice for their competition and entertain the visitors and members at the same time.

The Parliamentary Procedure team, consisting of Abby Karupus, Sarah Curley, Tabitha Reeder, Luke Chaney, Austin Welty, and Kelsey Wolfe, gave a fast-paced and well practiced demonstration of a proper debate. “The event helped us practice, and made our competition better.” Karupus said. Junior public speaker Sarah Curley gave an inspiring speech about service animals, and senior public speaker Nicole Muller gave a powerful speech about proper horse training.

After the demonstrations, the Linganore FFA presented a powerpoint  of photos showing what the Linganore FFA had accomplshed this past year.
