Liberty fire department teaches Little Lancers about fire safety: Photo of the Day 11/9/18

Every November, the Liberty Fire Department teaches the Little Lancers about fire safety. On November 14,  the Little Lancers lined up outside at the play yard to watch the fire trucks.

Child development teacher Kate Lane said, “Fire safety is a lifesaving skill. It’s amazing because young children have saved their parents by calling 911.”

A fireman teaches the Little Lancers important safety skills so the kids aren’t scared of firetrucks. They can also learn shapes, letters, and numbers on the firetruck and learn what to do in case of a fire. They will also pass out hats and booklets for the kids.

Katrina, a Little Lancer, said “The firemen really save people.”

All of the kids are so excited for them to come. A little boy came running into the room yelling “The firemen are coming! The firemen are coming!”
