Next week kicks off spirit week! The dress for monday is pajama day. Participate in each day of spirit week to earn points for your class to get a chance to win the spirit stick!

The Linganore High School mathematics honor society, Mu Alpha Theta, is accepting applications. Please pick up an application outside Mrs. Purgason’s room, A140. All applications are due today.

Rho Kappa is now taking applications to join the Social Studies Honor Society. For additional information please contact Mrs. Richardson or Mr. Burch.

On Wednesday, October 3rd , FCC is hosting the largest College Fair in Frederick County from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. This is the best opportunity to talk to many college representatives. Also on October 3rd, Linganore is hosting a mini college fair on Main Street during lunch shifts. Over ten colleges and several branches of the military will be here to answer your questions.

The Towson University Junior Senior Honor Band will be held on the campus of Towson University on Saturday, December 8. Students who are interested in being nominated should sign up in the band room by Friday, October 5.

The Shepherd University Junior Senior Honor Band, Honor Jazz Ensemble and Honor Chorus will be held at Shepherd University from January 18 to January 20. Students who are interested in being nominated for any of these ensembles may sign up in the band room by Friday, October 5. See Mr. Lloyd with any questions.

The patter of Little Lancer feet will be heard for the first time this semester on Tuesday October 2nd as our Child Development Classes welcome 17 neighborhood children to our Little Lancer program. If you are interested in this completer program, see Mrs. Lane in A124.

This month is Hispanic Heritage Month. We will be recognizing those of Hispanic descent who have accomplished amazing things during their lifetime. Today we will be recognizing ​Diego Rivera, who was a painter who helped establish the Mexican mural movement in Mexican art.

Homecoming tickets are available during lunch in main street. They will be on sale until the end of the third lunch shift today. Tickets are 22 dollars.

The Linganore Drama Club and International Thespian Society will be running a face painting booth at the Mount Airy Oktoberfest this Saturday, September 29th. If you are a current Drama Club or ITS member, or wish to be inducted into ITS this year, please sign up for a time slot to help. The sign up is posted outside D101. See Mrs. Smithhisler with questions. Don’t forget to wear a Linganore show shirt!

Congratulations to Linganore’s golf team for winning their match against TJ yesterday with a score of one fifty-two to one seventy-four. Special recognition to Ryan McFadden with 35, Ethan Crabb with 39, and Payton Smith with 39. They ended the season with an 8-1 record. Great job Lancers.
