The yearbook committee is looking for pictures from spirit week and Homecoming. Please email the account below with attached pictures for a chance of them being included in this year’s yearbook.

If the military interests you as a career choice, then you will want to meet with Sargent Hanson, the Recruiter for the Marines. Sargent Hanson will be at Linganore on Thursday, October 18th to discuss the ROTC program.  See Ms. Failor in Student Services to sign up for this great opportunity.

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery will be administered at Linganore High School the morning of November 8th. Students who are interested in the military or who want to assess their vocational interests and aptitude are encouraged to take the ASVAB.  Sign-up with Ms. Failor in Student Services by Friday, November 2nd.

The Career and Technology Center will host its annual Open House on Thursday, October 25 from 6 to 8 pm.  This is an excellent opportunity for Freshmen and Sophomore students and their parents to learn about the 23 programs of study at CTC. Students who plan to apply to a CTC program for next year must first shadow  See Ms. Failor in Student Services for a permission form to shadow.

The Frederick County Band Festival will be held today at Middletown High school, starting at 6 pm. The Linganore Marching Band will perform at six forty. This is a performance you don’t want to miss. If you can’t attend this competition, Linganore is Hosting a home competition this Saturday.

The University of Maryland is hosting a math competition next Wednesday, Oct. 24 from 2:30-4:30 in Mrs. York’s room. High scorers from this competition will advance to a second round on November 28. The top scorer in the county between both rounds will receive $100, and the top 3 scorers in the state will receive $500, $400, and $300, and a full scholarship to the University of Maryland.

Due to the rain this past Saturday, the Science NHS Audubon workday has been rescheduled for November 3rd. See Mr. Sunkel with any questions.

On the last day of Hispanic heritage month, we are recognizing Jennifer Lopez. Who is an insanely popular Hispanic actress, singer, dancer, and producer in today’s age. She has been awarded numerous awards and been nominated for several Grammys.

Juniors and Seniors, College Representatives from McDaniel College are visiting Linganore today. Sign up on Naviance or stop by Students Services for more information.
