Today in Black history month, we honor Oprah Winfrey and Steve Harvey for their success in the entertainment business and beyond. Oprah is a television host, actress, producer, philanthropist, and entrepreneur. Oprah was the richest African American of the 20th century and the world’s only black billionaire for 3 years. Steve Harvey is is an American comedian, television host, producer, radio personality, actor and author. He currently hosts a radio show, The Steve Harvey Morning Show, and a television talk show, Steve Harvey. Steve Harvey is a four time winner of the NAACP Image Awards Outstanding Actor in a Comedy series. Oprah and Steve Harvey are African American success stories of the modern age.

 All schedule change requests must be turned in by 2:30 pm today!  The schedule change process begins with a completed schedule change form, signed by a parent.  List the schedule you want to drop and the course you would like to ideally add.

Congratulations to these excellent “STAR” students!  They are each being recognized for demonstrating excellence in Academics, Accountability, or Attitude. Keep up the great work lancers!

High school students interested in forestry, fisheries, wildlife, or park management are invited to join teens from across the Mid Atlantic at the week-long Natural Resources Careers Camp, being held from July 22nd to 28th at the Hickory Environmental Education Center in Garrett County, MD. For more information, see Mr. Sunkel in room A139.

Pennsylvania’s most famous groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, sees his shadow, predicting six more weeks of winter-like weather.

Last night, the wrestling team beat both Walkersville and South Hagerstown in their tri-match at home. The team beat South Hagerstown 42 to 30 and beat Walkersville 88 to 6. Great job lancers!

The linganore basketball teams will be facing off tonight against South Hagerstown. The girls teams are playing at home while the boys teams are playing away. JV games start at 5:30 and Varsity games start at 7. Come out to support the teams!
