The Linganore Performing Arts Department has been hard at work getting ready for the spring musical, Footloose. Tickets will be on sale for students all week during all lunch shifts. The price for student admission is $5. Show dates and times are April 26th, 27th, 28th and 29th at 7pm with MAT-IN-AY shows on the 28th and 29th at 2 PM. See Mrs. Smithhisler with any questions.

The drama club is hosting a free viewing of the 1984 version of Footloose this Sunday, April twenty-second at two pm in the auditorium. Popcorn will be available for purchase.

The Lily Weaver Basket raffle is still going on! You can check out some of the amazing baskets you could win in the mailroom or in room C 1-2-3 immediately after school.

The Harry Potter alliance is having their annual Quidditch tournament on May 21st. Teams must consist of seven people, and may be co-ed. Sign up or visit the learning commons for more details.

Linganore High School Character Counts will be hosting “Cruisin’ For A Cause” Car Show on April 29th from 10 am to 2 pm in the stadium parking lot. Intense Barbeque will be on site selling delicious barbeque and other items. This car show benefits 2 local children’s organizations: S-H-I-P and C-O-I-P-P. See Ms. Aburto with any questions.

The Classmates 4 Life awards ceremony was last night! Linganore’s own Lily Tate and Tim DeMember participated in the event. Lily took 3rd place and Tim took 2nd place for their films speaking out against drug abuse. Great job guys!

The Boys Varsity Baseball team played an excellent game yesterday against North Hagerstown winning with a score of 14 to 8. Sam Downs struck out five batters and scattered three hits. Garrett Schwartzbeck had three hits for Linganore, Brett Tibbs had two hits with a double, and Jacob Ference had 2 hits. The team has another game tonight against Frederick playing away. The game starts at 4:30. Go get ‘em boys!

The Softball team also had a successful game yesterday winning with a score of 16 to 3. Great job ladies.

Both tennis teams took tough losses in their games against North Hagerstown yesterday. Get ‘em next time teams!

Both girls lacrosse teams are playing against Tuscarora tonight! The teams will be playing at home. The JV game starts at 5:30 and and Varsity game starts at 7:00. Come out to support the teams!
