Indoor track team victorious at Terry Baker Invitational: Photo of the Day 12/10/17

On December 9, the boy’s and girl’s indoor track team competed at the Terry Baker Invitational at Hagerstown Community College.  The boy’s team came in first place overall, and the girl’s team placed tenth.

This meet was the first of the indoor track season and had athletes competing from 19 different schools. The girl’s team competed in nine of the thirteen events offered at the meet and placed in the top 25 in every event. The boy’s team also competed in nine of the thirteen events and placed in the top 20 for each.

The girl’s team competed in the 55-meter dash, the 300-meter dash, the 500-meter dash, the 800-meter run, the 1,600-meter run, the 55-meter hurdles, the 4×200 meter relay, pole vault, and high jump.

Alannah Follis, senior captain, said, “I feel like we are doing great as a team, we are very supportive and confident of each other and I’m sure that we will be able to keep up a great winning streak with lots of records this season.”

The boy’s team competed in the 300-meter dash, the 5o0-meter dash, the 800-meter run, the 1,600-meter run, the 3,200-meter run, the 4×200 meter relay, the 4×400 meter relay, pole vault, and shot put.

Overall, both teams did well at the first meet. This is a strong start for only the first meet of many in the season. The teams are hoping to set many more personal records and make it to states this season. Their next meet is on December 16th at Prince Georges Sports and Learning Complex, good luck runners!
