On September 15 the Boys JV and Varsity squads played against the Frederick Cadets in their third regular season games. Both teams fought hard in their respective matches, but were unable to hold their own. JV lost 4-3 and Varsity, 1-0.

The JV boys were able to keep possession early in the game as they went up 1-0 with the first goal of the game. As play progressed, the play shifted to the upper hand of the Cadets as they scored two straight goals. During the closing minutes of the game, Frederick was able to pull through for the win.

“We played with a lot of heart, and a lot of intensity, but we just gave up some unlucky goals,” said sophomore Braden Weinel.

The varsity team unfortunately gave up an early goal within the first 10 minutes of the game. The team played with a lot of heart as they were able to hold Frederick to a clean sheet in the second half. With a rough start to the season, the Lancers hope to win a few games in the near future.

“I think that it was the best game that we have played so far in the season, and I think that if we can work on our ability to score we will become a contending team,” said junior Lucciano Iocco.
