The varsity boys lacrosse team dominated the field against Frederick, winning 21-1 on Monday night. The final result was never in question, as the Lancers nearly held Frederick to a shutout. The Lancers lead the entire game, and held an extensive 16-0 lead at the half.

Sitting at 3-0 a week into the season, the Lancers have been picked up where they had left off from last year’s state championship season. Despite losing key players such as Dan Ross and Wade Stieren, this year’s cast of players continues the program’s history of winning and success.

When asked about the blowout win, freshman attack Roman LaRocco had nothing but positive things to say. “We had possession most of the game, and our defense played really well against them. We also executed a lot of our plays, which helped” he said.

Leading point scorers were Sam Honchalk and Jordan Swoyer, with 8 points and 6 points respectively. Patrick Coggins also heavily contributed, scoring 4 times. LaRocco also had himself a game, dishing out 4 assists.

The Lancers play their next game Thursday against Middletown at Linganore. JV plays at 5:30, and Varsity follows immediately after at 7:00.
