On November 25, the boys JV and Varsity basketball teams faced off in a three-way scrimmage against Brunswick and Frederick. Both Linganore teams performed well.

The Varsity team was looking very strong. Despite having lost four of their five starters, the returning players have confidence in both themselves and the new players, who seem like they are able to figure out what to do.

Coach Tom Kraft said, “We have two teams that are going to play hard and compete very well. Based on the scrimmage we had Saturday, we’re going to perform great this year.”

As for the JV team, they also look very good. Kendall Johnson, who was unable to play last year because of a broken foot, is now playing as well as ever. The freshmen seem as though they are slowly figuring out the system and know how they need to perform.

Sophomore guard Ethan Hart said, “We have the potential to best last year’s team and the potential to beat everyone we face.”

Both the JV and Varsity teams have another scrimmage at Damascus on November 29 from 3:30-8:30. The first game of the season is December 5 at home against South Carroll. JV plays at 5:30, Varsity plays at 7:00.
