During the month of March, members of the National English Honor Society will be writing back and forth to their first grade pen pals from Centerville Elementary. The NEHS members will their pen pals  on March 28.

At the elementary school, students will share their favorite picture books with their high school pen pals. The pairs will read stories and participate in team activities that morning.

NEHS members will receive their final letters from their pen pals on Friday, March 24, before they meet their pals.

“All of the kids are super excited to meet their pen pals. It’s fun to see everyone’s letters and how much they have in common with the kids,” said NEHS President Tori Spurill.

“I like doing the pen pal letters because it gives me the opportunity to reach out to younger children and get to know them while helping them improve their language skills,” said Kayla Buratowski.
