2/27/16Despite pre-season low expectations, the girls basketball team went 13-8 this season, surprising many.

Lancers battled through many tough wins and close losses, including a nail-biting rival game agains Urbana, when the Lady Lancers took the loss by one point 63-62, and they fought for every point.

The team had a bye the first round of play offs, and will play Thomas Johnson on March 1st.

“We will work hard every practice until playoffs.” Coach Rachel Easterday (former Lancer state champion) told her players.

Coach Easterday has been every single player’s “Number 1 fan,” she says. She encourages these ladies on and off the court, and it is largely through her efforts that LHS girls basketball is back on the map.

The first girls play off game is Tuseday March 1st, and the boys is Monday February 29th at 6 o’clock with home court advantage.
