The National FFA Organization awarded Austin Welty $1,000 from the ‘Supervised Agriculture Experience’ grant for the small engine repair business he has started. Austin was the only FFA member from Maryland to receive this grant. Congratulations, Austin!

Attention band, orchestra and chorus students:  How would you like to travel to Europe over the summer and perform concerts with other high school students from our region?  American Music Abroad provides this opportunity for hundreds of high school musicians each year.  To find out more, attend an informational meeting in the Linganore High School band room this Wednesday, December 21st, at 7:00 pm with a representative from American Music Abroad.  See Mr. Lloyd for a brochure and more information.

Congratulations to our Star Winners so far this year. Students are recognized in the areas of Academics, Accountability and Attitude. We will be drawing a name from all of our winners each day this week. Yesterday’s winner was Lincoln Robisch.  Today, the winner is Mary Donaldson.  Please come to the AP office to receive your gift card.

The Egg Nog Jog has been rescheduled to Friday, December 23rd.

Lancer Media’s friend, Elfie, is hiding somewhere in Linganore. If you can tell us where he is in the daily picture, you will be entered in a daily contest. If you win the daily contest, you will be entered in the weekly drawing for a gift card. Weekly raffle winners will be announced via Twitter on each Monday of December. Time is running out to pre-order your 2017 yearbook at the discounted price of $70. Orders must be received through Herff Jones by December 31st. Order forms were mailed home, or you may pick up a flyer with ordering information outside of room A206. See Mrs. Bozzonetti with questions.  Yearbooks will be available ONLY until January 20th, at the special pre-order price of $75.  After that, no more orders will be accepted. Seniors, this is the last chance to order and receive your name printed on the cover. There will be a limited supply available at the end of the year at an increased price.  So, please don’t wait…order your yearbook today!

Varsity boys’ basketball had a close game against Tuscarora, but lost 61-52.

Girls’ Varsity basketball beat Tuscarora 54-39.

Any girl or boy interested in playing for the Varsity tennis team this spring needs to attend an informational meeting today after school in room A139 at 2:20 pm.
