The Career and Technology Center has opened shadowing for Carpentry, Electricity, Landscaping, Plumbing, Auto Body, and Culinary Arts. Stop by Student Services to sign-up for a shadow. See your school counselor, if you have any questions.

The class of 2017 is holding a fundraiser at the Mt. Airy and Frederick Jersey Mike’s locations today. Fifteen percent of all proceeds come back to Linganore to help support this year’s prom. Bring a flyer when you order to make sure the money comes back to our school. Hope to see you there!

Prom tickets will be on sale Monday, April 18 to Friday, April 22. Tickets are $35. Non-LHS guests need a guest form. Please pick up non-LHS guest forms and limo coupons outside of Mrs. Hirschy’s room C126.

Attention all first semester AP English Language and Composition students: The AP Comp exam is less than a month away on Wednesday, May 11. Practice and review sessions will be held after school on consecutive Wednesday afternoons after school from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm beginning next Wednesday, April 20. For more information, see Mr. Tringali.

Dual Enrollment students who previously returned a “Permission to Test” form have been placed on the Accuplacer testing roster for Tuesday, April 19. Testing rosters will be posted on Main Street outside the Assistant Principal’s office. Students taking the Accuplacer exam should report directly to the assigned computer lab no later than 7:30 am. Be sure to bring a calculator to the test.

Are you looking for something to do tonight? Come to Tuscarora High School for the “Startup Frederick” competition. Good luck to Robert Winter who is representing Linganore High School and competing for a scholarship. Thank you to Macy Armagost and Scottie Colvin who will also represent Linganore at the Open House. The fun begins at 5:00 pm with the scholarship competition beginning at 6:00 pm.

Congratulations to the Latin students who represented Frederick County at the Maryland Junior Classical League State Convention this weekend in Easton. Every Linganore student in attendance placed first in at least one category. These winners include Hugh Norko for the advanced Latin literature exam, Gia Haemmerle for Latin phrases and mottos exam, Allie Hudson for dramatic interpretation, and Kyla Dungan and Allie Hudson who tied in the English derivatives exam. Linganore Drama is performing “The Sound of Music”. Shows are April 15, 16, and 17, and April 23 and 24. Tickets are $10.00 in advance, and $15.00 at the door.

Seniors have only 30 days of school left.

And now for sports related news…

The boys’ JV lacrosse team won 7-2 and the Varsity boys’ lacrosse team won 12-1 over Tuscarora. Great job, Lancers!

Congratulations to the JV softball team for their win over Oakdale with a score of 17-1.

The Varsity tennis team will play at home today against the Oakdale Bears. Players should be on the courts to warm-up by 2:45 pm. Good luck!
