On October 13,  Linganore hosted the 2014 FCPS Marching Band Festival. Participant schools include: Brunswick, Walkersville, Catoctin, Oakdale, Frederick, Middletown, Urbana, Tuscarora, Governor Thomas Johnson, Linganore, and Stevenson University. Associate Superintendent Mike Markoe and all four principals were present.

To kick the night off, the LHS band performed the national anthem while NJROTC presented the colors. As the evening progressed each school proudly took the field.

At half time the LHS football team entertained the crowd by played seven on seven. More than 20 players volunteered.

Mr. Kevin Lloyd, band director, introduced the football team and their Coach Rick Connor.   Mr. Lloyd said that the coach often tells his football players, “If football was any harder, it would be marching band.” This, and the half-time game, delighted the crowd.

At the end of the evening, participation awards and recognition were given.
