Don’t forget! Auditions for the NHS Talent Show are being held today in the auditorium after school. Please see Mrs. Sands in room C221 with any questions. The talent show will be held Friday, February 28, at 6 pm in the LHS auditorium. Cost is $5 for adults and $2 for students over the age of 10. There will also be a raffle auction held during the event for many wonderful prizes. All proceeds benefit The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Maryland. Please contact Mrs. Sands at [email protected] if you have any questions.

This week is national FFA week. Help the Linganore FFA celebrate by participating in their very own spirit week. Today lots of people participated by dressing in their FFA wear. Tomorrow is Blue & Gold day, and Friday is Camo day. It is also Agriculture week at the mall, and several members of the Linganore Chapter will be there representing our school.

Another way to show your support is by participating in The Linganore FFA Kiss-the-Goat contest! Starting today, you can donate spare change to the table set up at lunch to support your favorite teacher. After a week, the teacher with the most donations will get to kiss a goat! All proceeds will be donated to the family of TJ Rufty, a student at Middletown High. TJ was previously diagnosed with Burkitt’s Lymphoma but is ready to come home. So dont forget to bring your spare change at lunch all next week!

The Linganore JV basketball teams took home several wins over the break. The boys JV team beat Winters Mill with a score of 50-35 last wednesday, and Westminster with a score of  56-49 last night. The girls JV team also beat Westminster last night with a score 42-31. Great job Lancers!

It’s time for Linganore to show its true spirit. Starting today, we kick off the Quarters for Cancer contest at LHS. The contest is a part of the efforts to raise funds for the Frederick Relay for Life. Many county high schools are part of the contest and the school collecting the highest donation will win a DJ party from Key 103/The Eagle radio station. All donations are encouraged- fill the buckets at lunch.

Until next time, have a Wacky Wednesday, Linganore!
