Prom is quickly approaching.  This year’s theme is A Night in Hollywood.  This year our prom is Friday, May 9 from 8:00-11:00pm at the Holiday Inn FSK. Tickets will be sold during all lunch shifts this week starting TODAY. Also boys, please consider using Men’s Wearhouse for your suit and tuxedo needs.  You can pick up coupons for Men’s Wearhouse outside of Mrs. Hirschy’s room, C126.  Please see Mrs. Hirschy with any additional questions you may have.

Last week, several LHS students left Linganore to get valuable leadership skills at the 2014 Maryland Association of Student Councils Convention, joining nearly 800 other student leaders from across the state in Ocean City. Linganore’s own Mr. Brown won the prestigious Mike Michaelson Advisor of the Year award. Mr. Brown, thank you for all you do and congratulations for being officially the best SGA advisor in the State of Maryland.

Are you interested in being an entrepreneur when you’re older? Well you should know that The University of Maryland Young Scholars Program is offering a 3-week summer Entrepreneurship program for high school students. They are also hosting a  3-week summer program in Biopharmaceutical Production. Sound interesting? See Ms. Radil-Harris or Mr. Brown for more information or with any questions you may have.

Congratulations to our FIRST Robotic Team 686 for their great showing this past weekend at the three day Greater Washington DC Regional Competition.   They competed with 51 Engineering Team from all over the United Stated in a game called “Aerial Assist”.  Their hard work and perseverance paid off when they were selected to play in the finals.  Thanks for all the support the team has received.  If you would like to see our team in action their next appearance is this coming w0eekend (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) in the Chesapeake Regional Competition at the University of Maryland.  For further information you can contact Mr. Bergeron, the team Mentor.

If you are registered for the AP Polysci exam, Mrs. Smith will be holding review sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:20-3:00 in her classroom.

If you will be 18 by June 1 and enjoy working with children, listen up.  An overnight camp in Pennsylvania is now hiring graduating seniors to work as camp counselors this summer. See Ms. Radil-Harris or Mr. Brown in C103 for more information.
